General Background of Kyegegwa District


Kyegegwa was created out of Kyenjojo District on 22nd December by an Act of Parliament 

The District has a projected population of around 165,900 as at 2014 consisting of 82,460 males and 83,440 females growing at a rate of 3.7% per year. This is a very high growth rate of the population and at such a rate the population will double in 19 years.

The District boarders with Kibale in the North, Mubende in the East, Kyenjojo in the Noproposed New headquarters of the districtrth west, Sembabule in south East and Kiruhura in the South.
